Darren Huckerby jokes about Cabaye moving to Crystal Palace on Twitter

The former Norwich City striker doesn't want the ex-Newcastle United midfielder at Selhurst Park in time to play the Canaries!

Ex-Norwich City striker Darren Huckerby has reacted on Twitter to Yohan Cabaye's proposed move to Crystal Palace.

The former Newcastle midfielder is expected to complete his move to Crystal Palace soon, with the BBC reporting a £10 million deal being agreed.

However, former Norwich forward Huckerby doesn't want Cabaye in place ahead of Palace's Premier League clash with the Canaries!

Indeed, the 39-year-old took to Twitter with his quip, although he also praised the 'cracking' signing it could turn out to be for Crystal Palace.

Cabaye's arrival would certainly mark a statement of intent from Crystal Palace, while at the same time boosting Alan Pardew's reputation and potentially saddening Newcastle fans that their former favourite will once again ply his trade under the manager but not for the Magpies.

Plenty of Newcastle supporters have expressed their view that they wouldn't want Cabaye back but Palace fans will no doubt be delighted if he arrives.

Naturally, though, the Norwich faithful may react the same way as Huckerby! The Canaries host Crystal Palace at Carrow Road for their Premier League opener next term.
