Ciftci sends Dundee United a message, says Armstrong helped influence Celtic move

The new Celtic signing has been speaking to the press.

New Celtic signing Nadir Ciftci has sent a message of thanks to former club Dundee United, according to the Scottish champions' official Twitter feed.

The controversial 23-year-old has been confirmed as the Bhoys' latest recruit and spoke to the press after his move on Thursday afternoon.

And Ciftci had nothing but good things to say about United, thanking the staff and fans there for two 'great seasons' there.

Two more Dundee United stars who left the club for Celtic are Stuart Armstrong and Gary Mackay-Steven, who both made the switch to Parkhead in January.

And Ciftci admits they had a bearing on his desire to join Celtic, influencing him by telling him how 'amazing' it was for them to play against Inter Milan in the Europa League.

Celtic drew 3-3 with the Serie A side at home, where there was an incredible atmosphere, before being narrowly beaten at the San Siro.

Ciftci will have the opportunity, along with the rest of his Celtic team-mates, to recreate such occasions, as the Bhoys have upcoming Champions League qualifiers that could ensure at least six big European nights at Parkhead next term.
