West Ham United transfer round-up: No move planned for Premier League-bound midfielder

The latest selection of news concerning West Ham United.

According to the Daily Mail, West Ham will not be pursuing a deal for Yohan Cabaye, who looks set to sign for Crystal Palace this week.

The Hammers have been linked with a move for Cabaye for much of the summer transfer window, but with Palace now agreeing a £10 million deal for the former Newcastle man, it looks as if they have pulled out.

Manuel Lanzini looks set to sign for the Hammers, and he appears to be the playmaking option that West Ham are pursuing.

Also, Carl Jenkinson looks to be one step closer to returning to the Boleyn Ground on loan, with the Guardian claiming that productive talks have been held between the Hammers and Arsenal.

The 23-year-old spent last season on loan with the East London side, and he is expected to agree a new contract with the Gunners, before returning to West Ham on a season-long loan.

However, there is bad news in one transfer saga, as West Ham face European competition for one of their targets.

Foot Mercato claim that Atletico Madrid have made an offer for Aymen Abdennour, who has also been the subject of interest from the Irons. Their offer is yet to reach Monaco’s valuation of the player, but it is another interested party that West Ham will have to fight with to secure his signature.
