Tottenham Hotspur transfer round-up: Spurs press on over Alderweireld plans

A round up of news stories this morning related to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Daily Telegraph has reported that Tottenham have reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid over the sale of defender Toby Alderweireld.

The paper claims that Spurs are still interested in signing the Belgian and offering him the chance to stay in the Premier League.

However, the deal is still thought to depend on compensation between Atletico Madrid and Southampton, as the Saints believe that legally, they should have the right to sign the player.

The Daily Star has reported that Tottenham have missed out on the signing of striker Simone Zaza, who has agreed to move to Serie A side Juventus.

The paper suggests that Zaza was a realistic target for Spurs, as Mauricio Pochettino looks at ways to revitalise his attack.

The Daily Star is among the sources claiming that West Ham United are interested in a deal for winger Andros Townsend.

Tottenham could decide to cash in on their wide man this summer, with the potential to bring in a fresh option on their left hand side.

The paper claims that a fee of somewhere in the region of £15 million would be needed for the deal to go through.
