According to ESPN, Ezequiel Lavezzi’s agent, Alejandro Mazzoni, arrived in France to begin talks with Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, with Tottenham Hotspur reportedly interested in a possible deal.
The report states that the future of the Argentinian, who is still on holiday due to his participation at the Copa America, is uncertain. Tottenham are interested in signing the forward and his agent began talks in midweek over his client’s future.
The 30-year-old, who signed for the Parisian club from Napoli in 2012, didn’t have the best of seasons in France last term and played a large portion of his games as a substitute.
Nine goals in 47 appearances in all competitions shows just how frustrating a campaign it was for the experienced attacker and a move away looks the best deal for all parties.
Should Tottenham look to sign Lavezzi this summer?
Spurs should be looking at bolstering their frontline with an experienced attacker this summer, and few fit the bill better than Lavezzi.
The Argentina international is in desperate need of a new challenge and the Premier League could offer him the perfect platform to once again find his very best form.
After working alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the last three years, he could also look to offer advice to Harry Kane who will likely be the main striker for this coming season.
He could be a huge coup for Spurs and a potential key piece in their bid for a top-four finish.
