Celtic need to complete the signing of Ciftci this week.

Celtic need to ensure transfer target Nadir Ciftci completes his move from Dundee United to Parkhead this week, if he is to play in the Champions League qualifying rounds, as per the Mail.

The Bhoys had an undisclosed offer for Ciftci accepted yesterday, and are set to hold talks with the player concerning his move this week.

It is expected that Ciftci will accept the move to Parkhead, having tuned down Dundee United’s contract extension offer a few weeks ago, in an attempt to push through a move.

Celtic offer almost guaranteed silverware to any player joining them, as well as European football, but there is a factor in the deal which requires Ciftci to be signed before the end of this week if he is to turn out in the Champions League for Celtic.

With their European campaign starting next week against Icelandic side Stjarnan, Celtic’s squad for the qualifying stages of the Champions League must be in and registered with UEFA by this Saturday.

This means that Ciftci has to be part of that squad if he is to play a part in Celtic’s attempts to secure passage to the group stages of Europe’s premier competition.

The report states that Ronny Deila is attempting to push through a deal to be completed at the earliest possible opportune it, with a potential announcement today.
