According to a report from the Guardian, West Ham United are closing in on another loan deal for Arsenal right-back Carl Jenkinson after the two clubs held what the newspaper refers to as productive talks.
The 23-year-old spent last season on loan at Upton Park and enjoyed a brilliant individual campaign, appearing 36 times in all competitions and impressing week in, week out.
The England international now finds himself back at Arsenal for pre-season training but it appears he could soon be heading back to the Hammers for another year.
The Guardian claims there is now a confidence at both West Ham and Arsenal that a deal will be completed for Jenkinson sooner rather than later.
Hammers manager Slaven Bilic has impressed with his summer transfer business to date and securing Jenkinson for the upcoming campaign would be another big step in the right direction.
The Arsenal player was one of West Ham’s most consistent performers in what was an up-and-down season and Jenkinson will know another impressive campaign could convince Gunners manager Arsene Wenger that he has a future at the Emirates Stadium despite the presence of Hector Bellerin, Mathieu Debuchy and Calum Chambers.
