Aston Villa are lining up a move for former Norwich City goalkeeper Mark Bunn, HITC Sport understand.
HITC Sport understand from sources close to the club, that the shot stopper is being considered as a replacement for the outgoing Shay Given.
Bunn was close to signing for Bristol City having held talks and even undergoing a medical, before Aston Villa showed interest.
The goalkeeper is a free agent after his Norwich contract expired at the end of last month.
A former Tottenham Hotspur trainee, Bunn has experience at Blackburn Rovers, Sheffield United and Leicester City.
The Sun reported Villa's FA Cup Final goalkeeper Shay Given is attracting interest from Stoke City, with Middlesbrough also making a move. He is keen to play first team football.
At Villa, 30-year-old Bunn would back-up USA goalkeeper Brad Guzan, and compete with 22-year-old Jed Steer, who was signed from Norwich City by Paul Lambert.
