Tottenham Hotspur media round-up: McCarthy in, Townsend out according to rumours

A round up of news stories this morning related to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Daily Mirror has reported that Spurs are ready to make a move to sign James McCarthy from Everton.

The midfielder is a target for the club according to the paper and their report suggests a £20 million fee could be on the cards.

The Mirror also suggests that Aaron Lennon could be included in a deal, heading in the other direction.

The Daily Mirror has also suggested that West Ham United want to sign Tottenham winger Andros Townsend.

Townsend is a target for the Hammers according to the paper and they could offer somewhere in the region of £15 million.

However, the Mirror suggests that West Ham aren’t gambling on a deal being simple considering the rivalry between the two clubs.

The Guardian is among the sources to have confirmed a new contract for Spurs midfielder Nabil Bentaleb.

The Algerian has put pen to paper on a contract which will keep him at White Hart Lane until 2020.

He joins a number of players to have committed their long term futures to the club, with striker Harry Kane among those to sign a new deal last season.
