The midfielder is hot property and both clubs are reportedly interested.

Manchester City will face stiff competition from PSG in any potential race for Wolfsburg star Kevin de Bruyne, reports the Daily Mail.

The Belgian was one of the stars of the Bundesliga campaign last season as he racked up the assists in a highly impressive season for both him and his club.

Those performances have garnered a lot of attention in his services from around Europe, with Manchester City in particular being credited with holding a strong interest in him. In fact, Manuel Pellegrini has made him a prime summer target according to the Daily Mail.

However, they would face competition for the youngster, with cash-rich PSG reportedly holding talks with De Bruyne’s representatives over the weekend about a move to Ligue 1.

An equal fight

Should de Bruyne decide he wishes to leave Germany, it would certainly be an interesting choice between both City and PSG.

Both are well known for their riches and could offer him lucrative salaries, so in that regard they are on equal footing. When it comes to football quality though, there is significant difference.

While City can offer a more competitive league in the Premier League, PSG could comfortably claim they have been better than Manuel Pellegrini’s side in Europe over the last few years, an argument that could how some sway over the player.
