Report: New developments from Italy on reported West Ham, Watford target Diego Perotti of Genoa

Genoa’s Diego Perotti has been linked with a move to West Ham United and Watford.

According to new developments published by Sky Sports Italia, Genoa’s Diego Perotti is edging closer to a move to Napoli, with a meeting with his agent scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.

The Argentine playmaker has been heavily linked with a move away from Genoa this summer, with Premier League duo West Ham United and Watford known suitors.

As per a report in TMW last month, the Hammers saw a £5.8 million bid for the star knocked back whereas Watford, in contrast, had a bigger bid accepted two weeks ago, as per transfer expert Gianluca di Marzio.

However, talk of a move to the Hornets has quietened since then and fresh reports suggest the player could be heading to fellow Serie A outfit Napoli, with the parties well into negotiations.

“Napoli will meet with Diego Perotti's agent. Genoa and Napoli had already discussed the potential transfer, and there is optimism deal will be done from De Laurentiis' club,” Sky Sports Italia claim.

Who is Diego Perotti?

Predominantly a winger, Perotti is a two-cap Argentina international who is comfortable using either foot and is renowned for his close control and excellent dribbling skills.

During a five-year stint with Sevilla, the 26-year-old made 117 La Liga appearances and helped the club win the Copa Del Rey and the Europa League before joining Genoa.

In his single campaign in Italy, Perotti scored four goals and added a further five assists. He would be an exciting addition to the Premier League, though reports suggest he could end up staying in Serie A.
