West Brom are continuing to monitor Japan star Yuto Nagatomo after once more being linked with the Inter Milan fullback by TuttoMercatoWeb at the weekend, but their chase for the defender may not be easy, with reports from Turkish website FutbolArena indicating that Galatasaray are also interested in the player.
That earlier TuttoMercatoWeb report stated that Nagatomo had snubbed an approach from Sampdoria and was open to leaving Italy for West Brom or Schalke.
But it appears that there are other options appearing for the 28-year-old, with claims from Turkey that Super Lig champions Galatasaray are in the running.
Futbol Arena also mention that French giants Marseille have their eye on Nagatomo, though there have been no further bids for the Japanese international other than the rejected Sampdoria offer.
What are the chances of West Brom signing Nagatomo?
Of the four clubs mentioned as having an interest in the player, West Brom are the only side that will not be featuring in Europe next season.
Though the Baggies finished in the lower half of the Premier League last season, the financial power of the division would arguably put them over the likes of Sampdoria and Marseille in the running for Nagatomo, despite those two clubs traditionally having some pull in European football.
Galatasaray will be the sole side involved in the Champions League, and may also be prepared and able to outbid Tony Pulis when it comes to a transfer fee and wages for a player that has been in Italy since 2010.
If the Turkish giants really do want Nagatomo, they are likely to be the Baggies' biggest threat when it comes to signing him.
