Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Micky Hazard explained on talkSPORT that he doesn’t feel striker Harry Kane is anywhere close to being the finished article.
Hazard has suggested that Kane still has plenty to do in terms of his development as a player at White Hart Lane, which he feels is the perfect backdrop for him to become an even better player next season.
“He’s not the finished article by any stretch of the imagination – We’ve seen how much he’s grown and how much he’s developed and there’s still a lot of development to come and I think there’s no better place for him to do that than in a Spurs shirt where he’s going to be playing regularly,” he told talkSPORT.
What’s the main challenge facing Kane?
The main challenge Kane has as he looks to secure another season as the club’s top scorer, is how he deals with losing his surprise factor.
He’s no longer the unknown commodity to some defenders, which was the case when he first broke into the team last season.
He’s got to find a way to reinvent himself and his game to stay effective, which will be difficult because he doesn’t have that burst of pace.
However, he’s a very intelligent player in terms of movement and will work hard to find those pockets of space in and around the opposition defence.
What’s the current situation with his future?
He’s a Tottenham player and it’s going to take an almighty bid from any club interested in him to poach him away.
He’s not revealed any desire to leave the club and there’s been no official line coming out of Tottenham suggesting that he’s surplus to requirements.
