Arsenal Emirates 2

A round up of news stories this morning related to Arsenal.

The Daily Mirror has reported that Pedro will stay at Barcelona for the forthcoming season.

The versatile wide man is mentioned as a target for the Gunners by the paper, but a deal is now unlikely to happen.

The paper’s report claims that he’s valued in the region of £15 million, which Arsenal could have afforded.

The Daily Star has claimed that Arsenal will not make any moves to sign another midfielder this summer.

Arsene Wenger is reportedly happy with the options across the middle of his team, with the paper claiming that Mikel Arteta has signed a contract extension with the club.

Central midfield is one of the busiest areas of Wenger’s squad and a key area of strength for the Gunners.

Juventus CEO Beppe Marotta has been quoted by the Daily Star suggesting Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba will not leave the club this summer.

The paper mentions that Arsenal are thought to have had a fleeting interest in both players, but speculation is now likely to cool ahead of the start of the new season.

“About Vidal those are only rumours. We have a good feeling with the club. Pogba? Many words have been said, but Juventus don't let their most important players go,” he said.
