Richards was recently confirmed as a summer arrival for Villa boss Tim Sherwood and Sinclair has suggested that he’s got the character to become a key and popular figure around the club, as the team looks to progress next season.
“Off the pitch, Micah is just so bubbly and has such a great spirit. It's fantastic to have him around the place - and the lads will love having him here,” Sinclair told avfc.co.uk.
“I think he's got his best years ahead of him now. He got into the same situation as me really at City in terms of limited playing time.”
Influence away from games is vital
It’s very important that Sherwood has players in his Aston Villa squad who are influential away from the pitch.
There are going to be some difficult periods next season, with the Aston Villa squad under real pressure and it’s important the boss has individuals who can keep the spirits high and who others can turn to.
Villa managed to stay in the Premier League last season, but they won’t be remotely pleased with the calibre of the season as a whole, which creates a pressure for the side to really progress at the start of the new campaign.
A happy squad is a productive squad
If Richards can play a key role in ensuring that the Aston Villa squad is happy then the players should have a spring in their step during games.
Fans can take any manner of defeat, as long as they see a squad which is happy, committed and giving everything for the cause and Richards is definitely someone who will ensure that the club is well represented in all walks of life.
