Algeria international midfielder Bentaleb has put pen to paper on a new deal which will see him remain at Spurs until 2020, as announced on the club’s official Twitter page on Monday evening.
Bentaleb enjoyed a breakthrough season for Tottenham in 2014-15, and he will be looking to take his game to a higher level during the 2015-16 campaign.
In 26 Premier League appearances last season, the 20-year-old created 16 chances, had a pass accuracy of 87% and a shot accuracy of 24%, and won 34 headers, 28 dribbles and 45 tackles.
Former Tottenham defender Roberts is delighted to see Bentaleb commit his long-term future to the North London outfit and has posted the following message on Twitter:
Another Tottenham midfielder who signed a new deal on Monday was Harry Winks, and striker Roberto Soldado congratulated the 19-year-old as well as Bentaleb.
One midfielder who left Spurs on Monday is Etienne Capoue, who has moved to Premier League rivals Watford.
