Roberto Firmino reportedly passes his Liverpool medical

Liverpool's summer signing completed the necessary checks on Friday and Saturday.

According to a report from the Liverpool Echo, Brazilian international Roberto Firmino has passed his medical ahead of a summer move to Liverpool.

A deal for the 23-year-old was announced earlier this summer but due to the player’s participation in the Copa America his medical did not take place until the weekend.

The Echo reports that Liverpool doctor Andy Massey travelled to South America late last week and conducted the necessary tests on Friday and Saturday.

With Firmino reportedly passing it means the deal is now complete and Liverpool fans can really start to get excited about their new £29million man.

Firmino is a wonderful talent who has the ability to become one of Liverpool’s best signings for many a year.

Best played as an attacking midfielder, the Brazilian scored 10 goals and provided 12 assists last season, a year on from his outstanding return of 22 goals and 16 assists for former club Hoffenheim.

If he can get close to that at Anfield he will quickly endear himself to the Liverpool supporters and there is no doubt Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has sealed one of the most exciting deals of the summer.

Firmino will need time to settle but if he does so quickly, there is no telling how good he can ultimately become.
