Report: West Brom determined to sign Matt Phillips despite £5m bid rejection

West Bromwich Albion, Aston Villa, Leicester City and Crystal Palace are all reportedly interested in signing Matt Phillips from Queens Park Rangers.

West Bromwich Albion are determined to sign Matt Phillips from Queens Park Rangers this summer, according to The Sun.

The British tabloid claims that Premier League outfit West Brom recently had a bid of £5 million rejected by QPR, who want £10m to part ways with the winger.

The Sun claims that Baggies manager Tony Pulis will not give up on his pursuit of the former Blackpool winger and will hold more talks this week.

It has also been reported that West Brom want to finalise a deal for the 24-year-old before leaving on a pre-season trip to the USA on Sunday.

According to The Mirror, Aston Villa, Leicester City and Crystal Palace are all interested in signing Phillips this summer.

Good move from West Bromwich Albion?

Phillips is one of the better players in the current QPR squad and is of Premier League quality.

It should not come as a surprise to anyone that West Brom are interested in the 24-year-old winger.

The former Wycombe Wanderers man featured in 25 Premier League games for Rangers last season, scoring three goals and creating 34 chances in the process.

The Scotland international had a pass accuracy of 64% and a shot accuracy of 32%, and won 35 headers, 42 dribbles and 27 tackles.
