West Ham look set to sign Ogbonna, but Everton still want to bring him to Merseyside.

It has been reported by the Daily Mail that Angelo Ogbonna is set to undergo talks with West Ham United concerning a summer move to the Boleyn Ground, but a recent report in TMW has suggested that Everton remain interested in him.

The 27-year-old central defender looks set to leave Juventus this summer due to a lack of playing time, and the Mail report suggests that the Hammers are leading the race for him.

The East London outfit are keen to add experience and top level talent to their squad, and although Ogbonna has not played much football recently, he has shown on many occasions with Juve that he has the ability to truly excel.

An Italian international, Ogbonna is flying to London to undergo talks with the Hammers this week, but the club face late competition from one of their Premier League rivals for his signature.

As per TMW, Everton retain an interest in Ogbonna, and are looking to tempt him to Merseyside, rather than see him in London for next season.

The report claims they will have to pay roughly £7 million to sign him, as well as including add-on bonuses totalling £1.5 million.

It is stated by the Italian media outlet that the Hammers are leading the race to sign Ogbonna, but Everton are clearly interested, and they should be going all out to sign a player who would vastly improve their defensive options ahead of next season.
