According to Nigerian publication Naij, Emmanuel Emenike is unsettled in Turkey with Fenerbahce and wants a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
The report confirms that the Nigerian international hasn’t featured for his club’s two pre-season matches so far and racial abuse suffered is thought to be the main cause behind his motivation to move.
The 28-year-old didn’t have the best of campaigns with Fenerbache last season, scoring five in 35 appearances in all competitions, and a move away seems like the most likely option.
Should Spurs look to sign Emenike this summer?
Although the powerful centre forward has already been linked with Tottenham this summer, as per the Independent, the Nigerian should be one the club look to avoid.
Despite earning a reputation in the Turkish and Russian leagues as a goalscorer, the forward’s most recent season should sound the alarm bells for Mauricio Pochettino as he looks for a striker who can compete with the sensational Harry Kane.
Emenike is unproven in the Premier League, in arguably the worst form of his career and has done little to suggest he deserves a move to a club eyeing Champions League football.
At 28, age isn’t on the Nigerian’s side either as this potentially looks like a deal Spurs would soon want to forget if they went ahead with it.
