The agent of Atletico Madrid midfielder Mario Suarez has told Calcio Mercato that he has an offer from the Premier League - just days after Tottenham were linked with a move to sign him.
Suarez, 28, has spent the majority of his career with Atleti, but with just 19 appearances in La Liga last season, the Spaniard could now look to leave Diego Simeone's men.
According to Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Tottenham are ready to battle Inter Milan for Suarez's signature this summer, with both sides keen to improve their midfield options.
Now, Suarez's agent Manuel Garcia Quilon has discussed his client's future in an interview Calcio Mercato - and having acknowledged that Inter are interested, he also stated that he has an offer from a mystery Premier League club.
"At the moment we’re still waiting to speak to Inter and Atletico Madrid," said Garcia Quilon, "But we have another offer. Is it Milan? No. I’m talking about a club in the Premier League," he added.
What would Suarez bring to Tottenham?
That Premier League club is expected to be Tottenham, and as manager Mauricio Pochettino searches for midfield options having sold Etienne Capoue and Paulinho already this summer, Spurs fans will be asking just what can Suarez offer?
The 28-year-old, who has three Spain caps to his name, offers size and strength in the middle of the park, as well as a great passing range and the occasional powerful shot from distance.
Suarez could be a solid complement to Nabil Bentaleb in midfield, offering experience and physicality alongside the Algerian in what has the potential be a decent partnership - if Tottenham do end up signing Suarez this summer.
