Manchester United fans react on Twitter to Angelo Henriquez sale

Manchester United have waved goodbye to the talented Chilean so what did their fans have to say about it?

You would have thought that after watching their former player Paul Pogba become a superstar Manchester United would be a little less likely to dismiss young talent too soon.

Or perhaps not, because the club announced on their official website that Angelo Henriquez had been sold to his former loan club Dinamo Zagreb, despite proving categorically last season that he deserved a chance at Old Trafford.

The Chile international – who lest we forget is still only 21 – scored 29 goals in 37 matches for Dinamo and it is not as if that form came from nowhere.

When Henriquez signed for United it was on the back of his 15 goals in 27 appearances for Universidad de Chile when he was only a teenager.

Here was a potential goal-scoring sensation and he has not suggested otherwise since arriving at United, but after just seven appearances for the under-21s (in which time he scored twice) and loan spells at Dinamo and Real Zaragoza (where he netted six) he is gone for good.

It is a strange decision from United manager Louis van Gaal considering Henriquez is of an age when he could take over from the departed Radamel Falcao or the ageing Robin van Persie.

He is not the finished article but he is a bona fide goal-scorer and now Dinamo have snapped him up for a bargain fee.

Following the news we took to Twitter to see what United fans thought of Henriquez’s transfer and you can read a selection of what we found below:
