One of Liverpool's players is heading out again this summer.
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has featured just 12 times for Liverpool’s first-team but it appears he does not have a future at Anfield – at least in the short-term – with Deportivo the latest club set to benefit from his services.
Alberto is a strange case as his age meant he was always going to take time to settle at Liverpool following his 2013 move. But while others have been blooded effectively the Spaniard is likely to look back on his time in England so far with a mixture of regret and confusion.
Alberto shone for Barcelona B and was regarded as one of the hottest prospects in Spanish football, so when Liverpool signed him it seemed a real coup.
But two years latest and the player is no closer to making an Anfield breakthrough; if anything he is further way, after a loan spell at Malaga last season saw him score two goals and provide two assists in 20 appearances.
The latest report suggests he began his medical at 9:00am Spanish time and provided all goes well he should be announced as a Deportivo player before the day is done.
