Derby County midfielder Tom Ince has explained his mind set ahead of the new season.

Derby County midfielder Tom Ince has explained in the Derby Telegraph what he’s looking to achieve playing under the guidance of Paul Clement.

Ince has been confirmed as another impressive arrival under Clement and he’s adamant that he’s made the right call as the Rams look to push for the Premier League over the next ten months.

“I will be going on to the training pitch looking to learn different things to try to make myself a better player,” he told the Derby Telegraph.

“Enjoying your football is the biggest thing and I have always said that.”

“Last season I was given that opportunity by Derby and now I am ready to build on that.”

How can Ince improve?

One area that Ince will be looking to work on with Clement is his consistency.

Firstly, he needs to force his way into the side for the start of the Championship next month, which will give him the platform to try and build on the promise he’s always shown throughout his career so far.

He will also be looking to add more goals from midfield, which will help to take some of the pressure away from the likes of Chris Martin and Darren Bent playing up front.

How can Clement help him?

It’s important to remember that Clement has worked with and has coached a very high calibre and quality of player.

He’s experienced life with some of the best current players in the world and that will have given him some insight he can use to try and teach a player like Ince some new tricks.

One of the main ways Ince can become more consistent in the coming weeks and months is if he’s unpredictable and difficult to contain for the opposition.
