West Ham have been back together longer than some of their rivals and have already played their first competitive game since the end of last season, beating FC Lusitans in the first leg of their Europa League qualifying game.
“Adrian It’s all very positive because all of the players, the new players, the old players are working very hard and we are together,” he told WHTV.
“We still maybe need another week together – When all of the squad are together I’m sure he (Slaven Bilic) will speak with us more.”
A positive culture is building
Slaven Bilic’s job is made easier if there is a positive mood and a productive energy running throughout his team.
The fact that the current squad of players seems to have settled back into life together so easily should be very encouraging for the gaffer.
If there are no issues in terms of team spirit and morale between players, Bilic knows exactly what he’s going to get from his team which is passion, commitment and honesty in big games.
Reason to be cautious
There is still reason to be cautious because Bilic still hasn’t had a great deal of time to work with his players.
The mood and energy is good, but he needs to work hard to get the squad to take effectively to his philosophy and the way he wants them to play.
The good news on that front is that the side seemed full of energy and played with good style last week, which is what Bilic will want to see on a weekly basis.
