Santi Mina completed a €10 million switch from Celta Vigo to Valencia on Sunday.

One for the present and certainly also for the future at the Mestalla, with Valencia officially announcing the €10 million capture of talented young forward, Santiago 'Santi' Mina Lorenzo on Sunday.

Completing his move from Celta Vigo, where he'd made excellent progress after bursting onto the scene with the Galician club, the youngster enthused: "It's like a dream for me."

Santi Mina also knows the responsibility that comes with such a big move: "Joining a big club like Valencia at such a young age is not easy and I know the responsibility I have."

Keen to make his mark with Los Che, the youngster underlined: "I'm going to fight every day to repay the confidence placed in my by Valencia, and my aim is to help my team-mates and the manager, as we strive to continue to be one of the best teams in Spain."

Regarded as one of the best young prospects in Spanish football, Santi Mina also had fond words for his former club, highlighting: "I am leaving a club for whom I have given everything; the Celta fans have made me very happy and I will always remember them."

Clearly though, he can't wait to demonstrate his worth to the Valencia fans, adding: "I know that the fans at Valencia are also incredible, some of the most loyal in the world, who never stop supporting their side. I can't wait to play at the Mestalla and give my all to repay them for the affection they show to all players."

Santi Mina made his Celta Vigo debut in La Liga aged just 17 in February 2013. Since then he went on to make 56 appearances in all competitions with the first-team squad.

Inevitably, it wasn't long before much bigger clubs started taking notice of his performances, with the youngster tipped for great things and a hugely promising future.

In the end, it's Valencia who have swooped and they consider the signing of Santi Mina as part of their long-term vision for the club, as chairwoman Lay Hoon Chan expressed with confidence: "Santi Mina is one of the most promising young Spanish players. He will make his mark on our existing squad."
