Report: Hoilett wants QPR exit, Sunderland ready £2.5 million bid

The winger is said to want to leave Queens Park Rangers.

Sunderland are readying a £2.5 million bid for QPR winger Junior Hoilett, according to the Daily Mirror.

Hoilett is said to want to leave Loftus Road and was relatively out of favour last season. And the Mirror suggest Sunderland are preparing an offer for the Canadian in a bid to add more pace to their side.

Too many to keep track of?

The only problem with this latest report is that it lists the third QPR player to be linked with a Sunderland move. They aren't going to buy their whole squad now, are they?

That said, interest in Hoilett could make sense for the Black Cats as an alternative to Matt Phillips. The QPR winger was in talks with Sunderland, according to the Guardian, but is wanted by several other sides.

The Daily Star also recently linked Sunderland with a move for the R's' Leroy Fer.

But there is no reason the Dutchman can't move to the Stadium of Light alongside Hoilett or that the Black Cats can't bid for both at the same time.

Bolstering Sunderland's attack will be a priority for Dick Advocaat now that he has secured Celtic left-back Adam Matthews, meaning he has one less position to worry about in defence.
