Los Che know they will be powerless to stop Nicolas Otamendi clinching his dream move to Manchester United this summer, with it public knowledge he has a £36 million release clause in his contract.
His Argentine international colleague Ezequiel Garay has been linked with United in the past, only to leave Benfica last summer to sign with Russian side Zenit St Petersburg instead, where he won the title last season for Andre Villas-Boas' side.
Super Deporte report so-called super agent Jorge Mendes has facilitated a deal for Garay to sign for Valencia once the Copa America is over.
Any deal is however dependent on Nicolas Otamendi leaving the club.
The paper reported last week that Garay was on a shortlist of Otamendi replacements along with Manchester City's Eliaquim Mangala, but it appears the situation has since progressed and the former Real Madrid man is the clear front runner.
