The Brazilian has been linked with an Anfield exit this summer.
Liverpool players are all set to get back into pre-season training this week and one man has highlighted the fact he is on his way back to the city on Instagram this weekend.
Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva has sent out this picture today, showing him on the motorway heading toward Liverpool to get back into action.
Lucas, who has been at the club since a move from Gremio in 2007, had another difficult season at Anfield last term.
The 28-year-old played just 20 times in the Premier League last season and struggled for his best form when he was in action.
His battles with fitness have been well-documented and Liverpool fans will be hoping he can get back to his best this term.
If he stays that is.
He has been linked with a move away from the club this summer. It was reported by The Daily Mail at the end of last month that Liverpool were open to selling the Brazilian international – with teams from Italy, Turkey and his Brazilian homeland all keen.
It is believed that Liverpool are hoping to balance the books after what has been an already busy summer.
