Liverpool transfer news: Borini close to £3.5m exit; Llorente move could be back on the table

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Liverpool

According to a report from Sport Italia Liverpool striker Fabio Borini is edging closer to a Lazio move.

The 24-year-old has played just 38 times for the Reds since arriving at Anfield, and he has scored just three goals to date.

Last season’s return of one goal and two assists in 18 games suggested his future was away from the club and now it seems Lazio are closing in on the forward for a reported £3.5million.

That would be a reasonably good return for a player who simply has not cut it at Anfield and needs a change of scene to reignite his career.

In other news, the Daily Mail claims Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has to decide whether to reignite his interest in Juventus forward Fernando Llorente after hitting an impasse with Aston Villa regarding the potential transfer of Christian Benteke.

The Belgian international has a £32.5million release-clause but it is being reported that Liverpool have no intention of paying that and that there has been no dialogue between the two clubs, bringing a potential move for Llorente back on the table.
