Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Luis Alberto going on loan again

Will Liverpool ever see Luis Alberto play for the club again?

Liverpool prospect Luis Alberto is heading back to Spain, after Deportivo La Coruna announced on their official website an agreement as in place to sign the Brazilian.

Luis Alberto was due to undergo a medical at the La Liga side last night, who finished in 16th place in 2014/15.

It will be the 22-year-old's second successive season out on loan, having spent last season at Malaga.

He played 20 times for the club, scoring two goals and providing two assists, and another season of first team football, this time at Deportivo will be important for his development.

The question beyond that is whether the playmaker will ever get another chance at Liverpool, having only played 12 matches since signing in 2013, providing one assist.

He arrived from Sevilla after also spending time on loan at Barcelona B, with a tremendous record in the youth ranks, but while fellow Brazilian Coutinho has kicked on and been a huge success at the Reds, Luis Alberto has struggled for opportunities.

The arrival of summer signing Roberto Firmino effectively ended his chances of playing for Liverpool next season, but it is interesting that the club have not decided to cut their losses, instead loaning him out once again.

Luis Alberto has a contract at Liverpool until 2018, and as such they are under no pressure to cash in now. With his market value very low at present, the Reds almost have nothing to lose even if he does kick on, but if he is a resounding success, they can either sell high next summer or give him another chance.

His impending loan switch has frustrated supporters to a degree, that the club have not managed to get more out of him since buying him in 2013.

Fellow players signed by Brendan Rodgers that summer have also failed to make the grade, Oussama Assaidi and Fabio Borini two examples, while Tiago Ilori is still awaiting his chance.

Here is a look at how fans reacted on Twitter to Alberto's loan switch...
