Chris Wood tweets after first week's training, gives verdict on Leeds squad

The new Leeds striker, who joined from Leicester City and had interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers, is feeling positive at Thorp Arch.

Leeds United's new signing Chris Wood has taken to Twitter after his first week's training, giving a positive verdict on his time with the club so far, as well as the rest of the Whites' squad.

Wood moved to Elland Road from Leicester City for a £3 million package, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post. The New Zealander also had interest from Wolves but ended up at Elland Road.

Since joining Leeds, meanwhile, the 23-year-old has undergone a rigorous week of pre-season training, one he has emphasised was tough on social media.

However, he feels the Leeds squad are looking good despite the challenges that have faced them.

The Leeds man is likely to be used as United's main striker next season, considering the fee paid to sign a Premier League forward.

He still faces plenty of competition, however, from the likes of Lee Erwin, Mirco Antenucci and more. Billy Sharp and Steve Morison's place in the side - and perhaps thereby their Leeds futures, too - are less certain but, for now, they are also on the books as competition for Wood.
