Report: West Ham interested in Southampton’s Graziano Pelle

Graziano Pelle

West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing Graziano Pelle from Southampton this summer.

West Ham United are interested in signing Graziano Pelle from Southampton this summer, according to Gianlucadimarzio.com.

It has been reported by the Italian news outlet that the Hammers are pondering making a move for the Italy international striker after finding it tough to recruit Mattia Destro of AS Roma.

Would Graziano Pelle be a good signing for West Ham United?

Pelle enjoyed a strong debut season in the Premier League with Southampton in 2014-15, playing an important role in the Saints finishing as high as seventh in the league table.

The former Feyenoord striker scored 12 goals and created 42 chances in 38 Premier League appearances last season.

The Italian had a pass accuracy of 65% and a shot accuracy of 38%, and won 170 headers, seven dribbles and 10 tackles.

However, Pelle has had just one good season in the Premier League, and he was inconsistent as well.

Moreover, the striker will be 30 later this month, and it will not be a wise long-term investment for West Ham to sign Pelle this summer.
