It has been reported by the Spanish news outlet that the newly-promoted La Liga outfit will face competition for the services of 22-year-old attacking midfielder from Real Sociedad, Villarreal and Celta de Vigo.
Should Aston Villa let Carles Gil leave this summer?
Gil joined Premier League outfit Villa from Valencia in the January transfer window and has a contract until June 2019.
The attacking midfielder arrived at Villa Park amid much hype and expectations, but he struggled to make a huge impact during the second half of the 2014-15 season.
The Spain Under-21 international could make just five appearances in the Premier League, failing to score a single goal and creating only six chances in the process.
Gil had a pass accuracy of 91%, and won 18 dribbles and two tackles in those five league matches.
The Spaniard is a talented young player, though, and it would be wise of Villa to keep hold of him for one more season at least.
