Manchester United transfer news: Arda Turan reportedly has agreement; club willing to see De Gea leave for free next summer

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

According to a report from Spanish newspaper AS, Manchester United have made an offer for Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan that goes far beyond anything the La Liga club can put on the table.

The Turkish play-maker has two years remaining on his current contract but he has been strongly linked with a summer move; and AS claims that he has an agreement in place with United but that he is still holding out to see if Chelsea make a move of their own.

Turan is one of the most naturally gifted attacking midfielders in Europe and he would be a wonderful addition to United’s squad but it seems there is still some time before a final decision is made.

In other news, the Guardian claims United are prepared to let David de Gea leave Old Trafford for free next summer if it comes to that.

The Spanish international has been tipped to join Real Madrid but so far Rafa Benitez’s club have allegedly not got close to United’s valuation.

The latest report claims Real have only made one low offer for the ‘keeper thus far and unless they increase that substantially, United will not even consider doing business.

In truth, keeping De Gea next season could be far more beneficial to them than any money they could bring in if he helps them to domestic or even potentially European success.
