Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has been quoted as saying by AS that he is not negotiating with any club at the moment.
According to BBC Sport, Manchester United are interested in signing the Spain international defender from Spanish giants Madrid this summer.
“I am not negotiating with anyone,” AS quotes Ramos as telling a journalist from Cuatro.
The Spanish sports paper adds that the former Sevilla centre-back was silent when asked if he was going to stay at Madrid.
Signing of the summer?
Ramos is one of the best centre-backs in the world. In fact, the Spaniard may even be the best defender on the planet.
The former Sevilla star has been a mainstay in the Madrid team for years, and is one of the best and most influential players in Los Blancos’ current squad.
Admiration for the Spain international increases when one considers that he actually started out as a right-back and was one of the best in that position.
Now Ramos is a world-class centre-back, and he can also play in defensive midfield. The fact that he features regularly for Madrid is evidence enough of his class and calibre.
If United are able to sign Ramos, then they will be making the signing of the summer.
