HITC Sport understands Leeds United are in contention to sign Manchester City youngster Brandon Barker on loan.
Rumours have been circulating on social networking sites linking Barker with a season long move to Elland Road, but had not been substantiated.
HITC Sport understands from a source close to Manchester City that there is a chance Barker does make a move to Leeds for the season, however at present there is nothing concrete to suggest any deal is imminent.
Barker is regarded as among City's brightest prospects, named by the Manchester Evening News as a player the club must manage carefully and hold onto.
The winger netted four goals and provided four assists in the UEFA Youth League last season, a competition ultimately won by Chelsea's under-19 side.
The 18-year-old is a left winger, a position in which Leeds have a need to fill heading into next season, with Uwe Rosler telling the club's official website he wants to inject pace into their attack.
Barker would compete for positions with Nicky Ajose and Lewis Walters, although Leeds would have to consider whether they want to sign a more proven commodity on a permanent basis or add the talented Barker on loan.
