The Liverpool star is looking forward to working with two of his England colleagues next season.
The club has been busy bringing in a number of new recruits already – with plenty of time remaining for more to follow – but it is the arrival of Roberto Firmino, Nathaniel Clyne and James Milner that is likely to generate the most excitement among the club’s fans.
Milner signed for Manchester City on a free transfer while Clyne signed from Southampton last week, solving Liverpool’s right-back issue, and now Henderson has been speaking about his two England colleagues.
Henderson’s importance to Liverpool has increased considerably following Steven Gerrard’s exit, but he believes his new teammates are set to make a positive impact of their own.
“He’ll give everything he’s got every time he puts on the shirt,” Henderson said of Milner. “That’s a really good signing for us; people like him can have a huge impact.
“Nathaniel I’ve played with for England; he has got huge quality and is a great defender. I think he’ll be brilliant for us up the right-hand side.”
Liverpool have been quick out of the blocks in terms of signing new recruits and while they still need a couple of top quality additions most of their signings to date are only positive.
Milner may end up being the best of the bunch given his Premier League experience and impressive work-rate, while Clyne replaces the departed Glen Johnson and is now a long-term option on the right of defence.
One thing is for sure: The future of Liverpool and the future of the England side could now be – at least in part – intertwined.
