The West Ham centre-back has been discussing the east London club's new coach.
West Ham United defender James Collins is delighted 'legend' Julian Dicks has become a part of Slaven Bilic's backroom staff and is looking forward to seeing what ideas he can bring to the first team, according to the club's official website.
Collins is impressed with the coaching setup as a whole and has revealed the Hammers squad are being kept on their toes as they bid to impress Bilic, Dicks and co.
Indeed, the West Ham centre-back told the club's site: "It is very organised and they know what they are doing. They are confident coaches and that is rubbing off on the players.
"Everyone is trying to impress the new manager and everyone has got a chance of playing. Training has been sharp and everyone looks good. Julian has come in and is a legend around the club and it will be interesting to see his ideas as well."
A memorable send-off
So far, so good since Dicks' appointment. Not only has that decision lifted the mood at Upton Park, but morale has sky-rocketed ever since Sam Allardyce's West Ham departure.
Slaven Bilic's arrival as the east London side's new manager has created a real feel-good factor around the Boleyn Ground and every signing (along with Dicks becoming a coach) since has brought West Ham fans closer and closer together. Thursday night's Europa League win continued the trend, while the club's decision to stream the game for free for anyone not at the stadium was another brilliant touch.
All in all, everything is in place to give Upton Park a memorable send-off during West Ham's final year at the iconic ground.
