Cristiano Ronaldo comments on Sergio Ramos speculation

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos is reportedly on the radar of Manchester United.

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has been quoted as saying by AS that he does not know if Sergio Ramos will remain at the Santiago Bernabeu next season or not.

According to BBC Sport, Manchester United are interested in signing the Spain international defender from Spanish giants Madrid this summer.

“I don’t know,” the Portugal international told an SNTV journalist when asked if Ramos will end up at United, according to AS.

Big loss for Real Madrid?

Ramos is arguably the best centre-back in the world, and losing him will be a blow to Madrid’s chances of a successful 2015-16 campaign.

The Spaniard is a hugely influential figure at Madrid and is a rock at the back, and Los Blancos will find it hard to find a suitable replacement.

Perhaps new head coach Rafael Benitez will make Pepe and Raphael Varane his first-choice centre-back pairing if Ramos does leave this summer.

However, it is in the best interest of Madrid to keep hold of the 29-year-old former Sevilla star Ramos for next season.
