Leeds United goalkeeper Charlie Horton has taken to Twitter following his first week of pre-season training at his new club.
Leeds made Horton their first signing of the summer when they brought in the USA under-23 international from Championship rivals Cardiff City, and while he will have to be patient for a first-team chance the 20-year-old has clearly enjoyed his time at the club so far.
Writing on social media, the Leeds stopper said, “Good first week of pre-season in the bank to get the season underway.”
Italian ‘keeper Marco Silvestri is currently the number one at Elland Road after an outstanding debut campaign.
Although his season ended prematurely due to injury, it is expected that Silvestri will be the custodian of the gloves for Uwe Rosler’s first competitive game in charge.
That said, with both Alex Cairns and Stuart Taylor leaving Leeds this summer Horton will no doubt get chances in time.
Leeds have impressed with their business this summer, not only signing Horton but also bringing Lee Erwin, Sol Bamba and Chris Wood to the club.
More are expected to follow but for new addition Horton, it seems he is very pleased with his decision.
