Sevilla have fully agreed personal terms with Ukrainian star, Yevhen Konoplyanka, announcing the deal officially via the club website.
In the press release issued, Sevilla declared:
"Sevilla FC have reached an agreement with the Ukrainian international Yevhen Konoplyanka, pending the passing of a medical examination and the closing of a definitive agreement with Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk."
"25-year-old Konoplyanka is one of the jewels of continental football, therefore has been one of the most desired of the international transfer market, given his great season with Dnipro, the team in which he was the star and who competed in the Europa League final against Sevilla FC."
"Last season he played 42 official matches and scored eight goals."
Konoplyanka isn't expected to have any difficulties passing the medical, which is scheduled for Friday, whilst the terms to be thrashed out with Dnipro, are said to be regarding previous economic commitments the player made to the Ukrainian club, even though his contract has expired with them.
These are believed to include a percentage of economic rights, for which Sevilla must agree a suitable solution, and may include Dnipro retaining a percentage of any future sale.
With the official confirmation that a deal has been struck with the player at least, months of speculation as to which club Konoplyanka would eventually join, can now be considered resolved.
Local media outlets were keen to grab images of the new Sevilla star, as he left the Sanchez-Pizjuan stadium, following several hours of negotiations with club executives.
Amongst them, the Sevillano edition of El Desmarque have published a video of Konoplyanka, sporting a beaming smile as he stood outside the main gate at the Sanchez-Pizjuan, happily uttering words that will please the fans: "Viva Sevilla!"
