Three top young prospects to watch out for at Newcastle next season

Newcastle United

An 18-year-old forward features, as well an ex-Nottingham Forest defender and former Rangers loanee.

Adam Armstrong

The 18-year-old was handed his Newcastle United debut last season and went on to play a big part in some games for the Tyneside outfit.

As a HITC reader comment also sums up well, there is plenty more to come from Adam Armstrong, who wasn't utilised in his best possible position under Alan Pardew or John Carver.

The Newcastle forward shouldn't be given too much to handle next term but a summer with the England Under-18s will have given the teenager even more confidence and experience.

Jamaal Lascelles

Considering the Magpies' woes at the back last term, Jamaal Lascelles may have more on his plate than he bargained for when finally arriving from Nottingham Forest, while his Forest form toiled after his Newcastle move was announced last season.

But, if Steve McClaren can live up to his reputation on the training field, there's no reason this young English talent can't come good at St James' Park.

Haris Vuckic

The Slovenian may have been linked with a return to Scottish Championship side Rangers, where he spent some of last campaign on loan, but Haris Vuckic has recently expressed his desire for a first-team chance under new boss McClaren.

With the striking department a problem position for Newcastle - and with quality new forwards very hard to find - the 22-year-old could certainly come in handy during the coming season. And, if Vuckic does leave for Rangers, he'll still be worth watching from afar.
