Tottenam Hotspur have made enquiries about Anderlecht striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, according to Tuttomercatoweb.com.
It has been reported by the Italian news outlet that the Premier League outfit asked about the availability of the youngster earlier today.
Spurs will face competition for the signature of Mitrovic, as a number of clubs are reportedly keen on his services.
AS Roma have joined the race for the 20-year-old, according to HLN, while Portuguese giants Benfica and FC Porto reportedly remain interested in him.
According to a report in The Daily Mail last month, Premier League champions Chelsea are monitoring Mitrovic.
The British newspaper has also claimed that Swansea City and Newcastle United both are keen on the highly-rated young striker.
Mitrovic is a highly-rated young striker, and the fact that he is a regular for the Serbia national team shows that he is ready to join a big European club.
However, the problem is that the 20-year-old is still untested and will be a ‘gamble signing’. True, the youngster has done well in European competitions, but he has yet to show his calibrate in a top domestic league.
What Tottenham need this summer is an established striker who will provide Harry Kane with competition next season.
