The Ligue 1 champions have been released from constraints put on them last season as a result of failing to comply with Financial Fair Play and will now look to strengthen their squad this summer.
That has led them to eye up the Napoli full-back, with France Football claiming they are looking for a replacement for Lucas Digne, who is in discussions with Serie A side Roma. He would also be an ideal long-term replacement for Brazilian Maxwell, who is 33.
The news of PSG’s interest will come as blow to the Premier League trio, who have all been linked with the defender in recent weeks as they seek to improve their squads ahead of the new season.
The money at their disposal is well known, with them able to offer big money in both player fees and wages, with only Manchester City really likely to compete with them in that regard.
France or England?
If the player were more interested in money than football, he would surely choose the French side, while he would also be guaranteed first-team football there.
That is something none of the English trio could offer, unless players were set to leave, with Aleksandar Kolarov being linked with a return to Italy by the Daily Mirror and Filipe Luis unsettled at Stamford Bridge according to the Express.
Based on those points, then a move to PSG looks more likely, although given a bid hasn’t been made by any side involved as of yet, anything could happen.
