Glenn Hoddle raves about departed QPR loanee Eduardo Vargas

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea midfielder Glenn Hoddle has been singing the praises of Eduardo Vargas on

The Chile international has been in impressive form in the ongoing 2015 Copa America, helping the host nation reach the final of the prestigious competition.

Hoddle worked with Vargas at Queens Park Rangers last season, when the former was a first-team coach and the latter was on loan from Italian club Napoli.

The Englishman was impressed with the 25-year-old and is full of praise for the former Universidad de Chile star.

“Chile have a good chance of victory in the Copa America final against Argentina,” Hoddle wrote on “They’re a very good side, we saw that in the World Cup.

“I saw a magnificent goal from Eduardo Vargas, he scored two the other night in the semi-final win over Peru.

“I had him at QPR and he’s a smashing little player, he’s really got a lot of potential, the second goal was outstanding to get them through and it’s a massive occasion for them.”

Vargas scored three goals and created 15 chances in 21 Premier League appearances for QPR during the 2014-15 season.

The Chilean had a pass accuracy of 76% and a shot accuracy of 48%, and won 15 headers, 20 dribbles and 14 tackles.

QPR finished in the bottom three of the Premier League last season and got relegated to the Championship.
