Yesterday evening West Ham United began their long journey towards the Europa League group stage with a comfortable 3-0 first-leg victory over Andorran outfit FC Lusitans.
The Hammers' academy manager Terry Westley took charge of the match at Upton Park, as newly appointed manager Slaven Bilic opted to watch the European tie from the stands.
Man-of-the-match, and last season's club top scorer, Diafra Sakho scored twice and James Tomkins added a third to put the Hammers in control of the first qualifying-round tie.
Meanwhile, Reece Oxford become the youngest ever player to represent the Hammers, at the tender age of just 16. Despite a nervous start, the teenager eventually warmed to the game, giving an impressive account of himself.
With the return leg set to take place on the 9th July, the Upton Park faithful will be confident of progression thanks to this dominant home victory.
