Just a shame about four people saw it!
Back in 2004, a 14-year-old American was declared as the next Pele. Eleven years on, and the 'next Pele' is now playing in Finland and scoring belting free-kicks.
When Adu signed for DC United, everyone thought he was set to become the greatest player ever and have Lionel Messi in his back pocket. Well, after playing 87 times for DC United and becoming a true Football Manager legend, it looked like he was going to live up to expectations.
Sadly, the former wonderkid has gone on to play for 10 teams since 2008 – turning out in Greece, Turkey, Brazil and now Finland!
And it's in Finland – the land of reindeer jerky and er... Sami Hyypia – where Adu has scored his first goal since 2013 after netting a lovely free-kick in front of about four people for Kuopion Palloseura's reserves. #BIGTIME
Hopefully, Freddy will get his act together and make it to the first-team. Guessing Brendan Rodgers will be ready to make a big-money move if the American plays his cards right.
We still believe in you Freddy, especially if you keep scoring free-kicks like that!
