Espanyol seem to have both their left and right flanks amply covered for the 2015-16 season in La Liga, after completing the signing of two wingers on Friday.
The arrival of 21-year-old Jorje Granco Alviz, commonly known as 'Burgui' was first announced by the official club website, with the player arriving principally on loan from Real Madrid, although Espanyol retain an option to make his move permanent, for a fee of €1 million.
The second swoop of the day was then announced shortly afterwards, again via the official Espanyol website, with the club having agreed to sign 26-year-old Paraguayan, Hernan Perez, who was available on a free transfer and has penned a four-year deal with Los Periquitos.
Burgui is described as a versatile young player, who can operate as a striker, central attacking midfielder or particularly, as a left-winger. He is a direct replacement for Lucas Vazquez, who returned to Real Madrid after an excellent spell with Espanyol, in a similar arrangement to their newest recruit.
Hernan Perez is detailed as being able to operate as a central attacking midfielder, although his primary role will be wide on the right. He has extensive experience in Spanish football, having spent most of his career with Villarreal, before loan spells in Greece with Olympiakos, then last season with Real Valladolid in the Segunda.
Having successfully passed their medicals, both players will be officially presented to the media next week, as the Espanyol team prepares to begin their pre-season schedule.
The two new arrivals spark a flurry of expected incoming transfer activity at Espanyol, following the departures of iconic forward Sergio Garcia, winger Lucas Vazquez, and midfielder Manu Lanzarote.
