West Ham

West Ham United defeated Lusitanos 3-0 in a Europa League qualifier on Thursday.

West Ham United midfielder Diego Poyet has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to his side’s win against Lusitanos on Thursday evening.

The Premier League outfit got the better of the Andorran team 3-0 at home in the first leg of the Europa League first qualifying round.

Senegal international striker Diafra Sakho put the Hammers in the lead in the 40th minute and doubled the advantage on the stroke of half time.

James Tomkins wrapped up the scoring just before the hour mark, as West Ham registered a comfortable 3-0 win at the Boleyn Ground.

Poyet started the encounter and played for the entire 90 minutes, and he was delighted with his side’s victory.

Breakthrough season?

Poyet gave a good account of himself against Lusitanos, and he will now be looking to kick on and establish himself as an important player for the West Ham first team.

The Uruguayan joined the Hammers from London rivals Charlton Athletic in the summer of 2014.

The 20-year-old played on loan for Championship outfit Huddersfield Town for a short spell during the 2014-15 campaign.

The Uruguay Under-20 international could make just three Premier League appearances for West Ham, creating one chance and having a pass accuracy of 91% in the process.
